Your First Product in Ten Minutes

This is the shortest path from nothing to a product people can buy. Chapter 5, Tutorial: Sell a Membership, From Paddle to Protected Content covers the same steps in more depth, with the choices that matter.

Procedure 3.1. Create a product and put it on a page

  1. Go to Components → PaddleSubs → Products and click New.

  2. Type a Name, such as Gold Membership, and a Slug/Alias, such as gold-membership. Write a Short Description, and choose Uncategorised in Category.

  3. On the Actions tab, choose a group in Add To User Groups. Create the group first in Users → Groups if you need to.

  4. Click Save. PaddleSubs creates the product in Paddle, and the Add Price button appears.

  5. Click Add Price. Enter a Name customers will see, such as One year, a Base Price *, and leave Billing Type as Non-Recurring with an Expiry Period of 1 year. Click Save Price.

  6. Go to Menus → Main Menu and add a menu item of type PaddleSubs → Specific product, choosing your product in Subscription Product.

  7. Open the menu item on your site, click Choose One year, and pay with a test card.

Run the PaddleSubs - Process webhooks task (or wait a minute if your scheduler runs from CRON), then look at Components → PaddleSubs → Access Subscriptions: your purchase is there, and the buyer's Joomla account is in the group you chose.
