Chapter 8. How-to Guides

Release Content Over Time

A course can show week 2 to customers who have been members for a week, and a renewal offer to those whose access ends in a month. With the Content - PaddleSubs Timed Release plugin enabled:

{pstimedrelease course(7,X)}
<p>Week 2: ...</p>
{/pstimedrelease}

Inside the brackets are a minimum and a maximum, in days:

  • A positive number counts days the customer has had the product. (7,X) means from day 7 on; (0,6) means the first week only.

  • A negative number counts days left. (-30,X) means while at least 30 days are left; (X,-30) means once 30 days or fewer are left.

  • X means no limit, and leaving the brackets out means any time the customer has had the product.

Days are added up over all the customer's Access Subscriptions to the product, past and present, so a customer who renewed keeps the days they had. You can combine conditions with ||, && and ! as for {paddlesubs}.

To show the numbers themselves, use {asdayselapsed course} and {asdaysremaining course}. Add a number after a comma to shift them: {asdayselapsed course,1} counts the first day as day 1.
