Choose Your Password
The page the welcome email links to, where a customer whose account PaddleSubs created chooses its password. It has no menu item type: the link opens it on its own. An account PaddleSubs creates uses the customer's email address as its name and username, so the page first offers, under About you (optional), to change them:
-
Your name, as the site shows it and greets the customer in emails.
-
Username, to log in with. As the customer types, the page checks it is free and follows Joomla's rules (2 to 150 characters, none of
< > " ' % ; ( ) & \, letter case ignored), and says so under the field. It warns that the username can't be changed later unless Change Login Name is on in → .
Fields left empty keep the email address, as the page says. Below them it asks for the password twice and applies the password rules set in → → . saves all three, ends the account's other sessions, signs the customer in and opens My Access Subscriptions. A username taken in the meantime, or a password the rules refuse, brings the page back with what the customer typed. If the customer was signed in on another page after opening this one (the Purchase Complete page signs in a new buyer), saving brings the page back with This page was out of date, perhaps because you signed in on another page. Please enter your password again.; the link still works.
The link works once, for a week. A used or expired link shows This link has expired or has already been used. with a link to Joomla's password reset. Opened while someone else is logged in, the page asks them to log out first.
