The Product Page
The page customers buy from. It shows the product's name and description, with its image beside them when it has one (square, with a thin border in your template's border colour), and then:
-
who the visitor is buying as: Buying as … with Not you? Log out for a logged-in user, or, for a guest, that the purchase goes to the account using the checkout email, with a Log in link;
-
the product's active standard prices (custom prices are never shown), as cards with the price's name, its amount (what it charges every period, in the visitor's currency and before tax, with the estimated tax and the total when Show estimated tax is on), its period (such as “every month” or “for 1 year”), and a button ( when the product has only one price).
Recurring prices are grouped under Automatic renewal (“Charged again at the end of each billing period until you cancel.”) and one-time prices under Manual renewal (“Pay once. Nothing is charged again.”). With both kinds, the groups are tabs. Within each group the prices are in the order set in the product's prices list (see the section called “The Product Editor”).
A price's card shows the price's name from Paddle. Its period is Paddle's billing cycle for a recurring price, and the PaddleSubs expiry for a one-time price. A recurring price with a trial says so under its period: “First 14 days free”, or for a paid trial “Introductory price for the first year”, which becomes “First year at $50.00” once Paddle's price preview gives the trial's price in the visitor's currency. The amount above stays the price charged after the trial (see the section called “Trials and Introductory Prices”).
With ?price= in the address (a price's name, PaddleSubs ID or Paddle ID), the page
shows only that price, with a button and a
See all billing options link. A custom price can't be chosen this way. A custom
product has no page: its address shows Joomla's not-found page.
For a product whose access stacks (Access: another purchase adds time
(stacking) as its purchase type), a logged-in customer has one subscription at a time. The price their Paddle subscription pays shows
Already subscribed instead of a button, and the product's other recurring prices
show , which opens the section called “Switching a Subscription's Price”
instead of a second checkout. A note above the prices says how a switch is billed: the difference for the
rest of the current billing period is charged or credited straight away.
While the subscription can't be changed (a cancellation or pause is scheduled, or a payment is due), the
other recurring prices say Not available while your subscription can't be changed.
One-time prices can always be bought: they stack after the current access. Licensed products, where each
license is for one site, and products whose access doesn't stack keep their (or ) buttons, and a customer can hold several subscriptions to them. PaddleSubs asks Paddle for
the customer's subscriptions each time the page is shown; if Paddle can't be asked, every price is offered
as usual. A customer who buys a second subscription anyway, for example logged out, gets an email
pointing it out (com_paddlesubs.subscriptions.duplicate (Second Subscription): “You now have two subscriptions
to {PRODUCT} on {SITENAME}”).
The page needs JavaScript; without it, a warning explains why the purchase can't go ahead.
The prices come from Paddle. If Paddle can't be reached, or there is no API key for the current environment, the page answers with an error, This product is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later., instead of a purchase that can't go through.
