Chapter 9. The Admin Pages

The Products Page

Lists your products with their Paddle ID, Name, Description, number of Prices, Category, Access level and Paddle Status. A long description is cut to three lines; point at it to read the rest. Filter by category, access level, Type and status, or search by name.

A custom product has a Custom badge after its name, and its row is shaded. Paddle leaves custom products out of its lists, so PaddleSubs asks Paddle for each one it keeps on its own; a custom product made in Paddle that PaddleSubs has never seen isn't listed until a purchase of it is set up from the Needs Attention page.

The products' order is the order your site lists them in: on the All Products, Product Categories and Product Levels pages (within each category or level there). The list is sorted by it to start with; drag a product by its handle (the first column) to move it. Sorted by anything else, the handles are greyed out: click the first column's heading to sort by order again. The order is your site's own: it isn't sent to Paddle. New products, including those that arrive from Paddle, go last.

The toolbar has New, and under Actions, Publish and Archive, which make products active or archived in Paddle. Paddle never deletes products: archive one to stop selling it. An archived product disappears from your site's product lists, but customers who bought it keep their access.
