Purchase Complete
After paying, the customer arrives here. If the purchase has already been processed, it says Your payment is complete and your Access Subscription is ready. and shows the product and its dates. Usually it is still on its way, and it says Your payment is complete. We are processing your Access Subscription and it should appear shortly. The page then reloads every few seconds until it appears; after two minutes it stops and says This is taking longer than usual. Either way it shows the Paddle transaction, and buttons to , open , or .
A customer doesn't need an account to buy: the purchase creates one (see the section called “How Paddle Customers Become Joomla Users”). When a guest's purchase created their account, this page signs them in to it, in the browser they paid in, once and within the hour after the purchase is processed. It never does so for an account that existed before the checkout, even one with the email address the buyer typed, since Paddle doesn't verify it: that customer sees Your payment is complete. Log in to see your Access Subscription. and a button.
Since Paddle doesn't verify the email address, whoever paid may not own it. So until the buyer chooses a password from the welcome email, which goes to that address, the session this page signed them in to can use the account but not keep it. The page says We have signed you in. To keep your account, set your password with the link we emailed to the address. Until then:
-
Joomla's profile pages (editing the profile, the password, the email address and two-factor authentication) send them to My Access Subscriptions with To change your profile, password or sign-in methods, first set your password with the link we emailed to the address. Signing out still works.
-
Adding a passkey is refused, and so is a change of the password or email address made by any other extension.
-
The session ends after a day, with You were signed in after paying, for a day. To sign in again, set your password with the link we emailed to you.
Choosing the password lifts these limits and ends every other session of the account. This needs the System - PaddleSubs plugin: while it is disabled, nobody is signed in on this page, and new buyers log in once they have chosen a password.
Only Joomla's own profile, two-factor and passkey pages are limited. An extension that adds another way to sign in or to edit the profile without saving through Joomla's user object is not.
