Chapter 8. How-to Guides

Extend, Shorten or End Someone's Access

You can change the dates of any Access Subscription, for example to give a customer an extra month after a problem, or to end access for someone who broke your terms:

Procedure 8.5. Change an Access Subscription's window
  1. In Components → PaddleSubs → Access Subscriptions, find the customer and open their Access Subscription.

  2. Change Ends: later to extend, a time in the past to end it now. Leave it empty for lifetime access. Add a Note saying why.

  3. Click Save & Close, then run the PaddleSubs - Access subscription lifecycle task, or wait for its next run. It publishes or unpublishes the Access Subscription to match the new dates, and adds or removes the groups.

Warning

Change the dates rather than only switching Published off. Saving doesn't change the customer's groups, and the lifecycle task publishes a paid Access Subscription again if its window is still open.

Changing an Access Subscription doesn't change anything in Paddle: a customer on a recurring price is still billed on Paddle's schedule. Cancel or pause their Paddle subscription in Paddle if that is what you want.

You can't create an Access Subscription by hand. To give someone access they haven't paid for, add them to the product's group in Users → Manage, or give them a 100% discount code, so the access has a proper record.
