Chapter 9. The Admin Pages

When Paddle Can't Be Reached

If PaddleSubs can't reach Paddle when a page needs it, because the API key is wrong or missing, your server can't connect, or Paddle is down, it shows a Paddle API unavailable page (a site that has never had a key sees the section called “The Get Started Page” instead). It names the problem, lists its common causes and how to fix them, and shows the environment in use, with these buttons:

Component Options

Opens the options, to check the environment and the key.

Retry connection

Tries again, and returns to the dashboard if it works.

Enable Offline Mode

Turns on Offline Enabled, so you can browse PaddleSubs without calls to Paddle. Disable Offline Mode turns it off again. Both buttons appear only for users who may change the PaddleSubs options.

List pages whose data comes from Paddle don't stop when Paddle has a brief problem: they show Paddle could not be reached just now, so this page shows what PaddleSubs already holds with Paddle's message, and your site's records.

Warning

Offline mode is for browsing while Paddle is unavailable. Turn it off as soon as you can: while it is on, the import wizard refuses to run and anything that has to ask Paddle can't.
